Stuart's world-ranked MS in Environmental Management program is now offering a certificate program for mid-career professionals. This certificate program allows the professional to take a series of four courses in a track of specific interest without having to complete the entire 14-course MS program. The two tracks currently being offered are:

Compliance & Pollution Prevention

  • EM501 Environmental Law and Regulation I
  • EM502 Environmental Law and Regulation II
  • EM509 Solid and Hazardous Waste Management
  • EM508 Air and Water Pollution Control

Sustainable Enterprise

  • EM507 Industrial Ecology
  • EM590 Business Strategy: The Sustainable Enterprise

and any two of the following:

  • EM515 Information Technology for Environmental Managers
  • EM520 Contemporary Issues and Global Sustainability
  • EM530 Energy, Environment and Economics

In order to enroll in an Environmental Management certificate program, you must have an undergraduate degree and at least five years of related work experience. Depending on your previous academic coursework, you may need to enroll in science and calculus prerequisites. All the core courses in this certificate program are regular courses in IIT Stuart School of Business, so students must demonstrate graduate level academic proficiency and meet any prerequisites.

Successful completion of courses for the certificate program can be transferred to the MS in Environmental Management program, if you apply and are accepted into that program. You have the option of transferring to the MS program in any quarter.
